all i know that samsung lcd has 7000:1 contrast ratio while philips has 1000:1
samsung home theater has 600w and philips has 200w
For the TV, Samsung all the way. Samsung’s quality has come a long way, and they have been taking a lot of the consumer LCD market over the last couple of years.
For home theater, how much do you want to spend? If your heart is set on one of those 2 systems, I would go with the Samsung.
