HDMI Cables?
I am building a home theater system currently and I’m not sure what sort of HDMI cables i need (if they even differ). The television i have bought is a 52 inch Samsung Series 6 120hz LCD 1080pHD-TV. I also have an LG 5.1 1080p Digital Surround sound home theater speaker system with wireless rear-end speakers. The last component to the home theater system is of course my playstation 3 acting as a gaming console and the blu-ray player. I was told at the store since i was buying a 120 hz tv iw ould need some special HDMI cables, which are “high speed” in order to maximize the ps3’s output. What might these cables be? Do i need anything special for my audio system as well?
“High Speed” is Monsters buzz-word to scare you into buying their cables.
HDMI is a software spec, not a cable spec. There are future-options in the spec which nothing currently takes advantage of. But the sales people ’scare’ you into buying their over-priced cables now.
If you were burying it in a wall … I would consider one of these cables. But for just running to the TV outside the wall, I spent $38 on a good cable from www.bluejeans.com
