It used to be that cable was an obvious superior choice as far as the battle between the dish and the cable company was concerned. Difference #3: looking forward, moving forward. If you’re on board with cable, then you might notice that there does not seem to be a lot of focus being paid to preparing for the future. If it’s not the high definition content, it’s something else that shows how cable is a bit stuck in the past. By contrast, satellite tv might sometimes seem a bit eager to jump the gun, but this has proven time and time again to be an asset rather than a problem. And considering the technology that satellite employs to bring a signal, it’s no wonder that the people behind it are more interested in the future.
Difference #4: free will and open choices. If you’re dealing with a cable package, you’re going to have to take the good with the bad so much of the time. This is because of the fact that cable does not allow you to pick and choose your channels, offering up particular packages or nothing at all. However, satellite will allow you to assemble or build your own schedule, and will charge you accordingly but not gouge you. It’s a more common-sense friendly approach to the world of television.
Difference #5: going anywhere. Not everyone is living in the middle of a bustling metropolis these days, and for those who opt to live outside of a major city, sometimes getting television service can be a bit of a handful. But while cable companies don’t want to invest tens of thousands of dollars in laying wires for those who might live off the grid, for a satellite tv company, installation is as simple as getting someone to put a dish in your backyard. You can be anywhere and still be enjoying satellite, while cable is far more difficult to take with you if you’re deciding to go off the beaten path.
