Does the NBC Poll serve as a reminder that public support of Democrats is all but a fading memory?
Poll shows continued weakness in support for the president’s national health care plan. In response to the question, “From what you have heard about Barack Obama’s health care plan, do you think his plan is a good idea or a bad idea?”

39 percent say Obama’s plan is a good idea, while 41 percent say it is a bad idea, and 17 percent have no opinion.
Approval of Obama’s handling of health care has gone up a bit in the wake of his full-court-press public relations campaign — it’s now 45 percent, up from 41 percent in April.
But it’s still smaller than the 46 percent who disapprove of his handling of health care, even after all the speeches and TV appearances.
there’s always an error of margin, especially when you get to demographics and the different types of groups the poll is presented to…
but I think most Americans don’t support the bill because they don’t know what it really is going to entail (after it goes through committees, and the house, and then the senate, and the earmarks, legal jargin and so forth) and they’re afraid of the cost.
i think the real value in polls like these is that americans, from both sides of the political isle and everywhere in between, have a distrust and a feeling of “enough is enough” when it comes to government, no matter what party you belong to…
and it’s time for government, all people, all branches, from the top, all the way down to the bottom of the totem pole, they need to wake up and do as their supposed to do which is represent the people, not their ideology, not their political parties, and stay within the confines of the constitution.
