Do I need a digital converter box for my digital tv? I do not subscribe to any cable/tv network programs.?
Other questions:
1. What is the difference between digital antenna and analog antenna?
2. Can we use analog antenna with digital converter box?
3. If yes, will I get more channels if I use a digital antenna with converter box? Or will it only provide a clearer image but same amount of channels?
4. Does digital antenna have “rabbit ears” too?
Thanks!
Do I need a digital converter box for my digital tv?
No, if your tv has a digital ATSC tuner, you don’t need a converter box to receiver over-the-air broadcasts.
1. What is the difference between digital antenna and analog antenna?
There are no digital or analog antennas. Any company that advertises a special digital antenna is just lying to you.
2. Can we use analog antenna with digital converter box?
Since all antennas will work for digital the same way they did for analog, the answer is yes.
3. If yes, will I get more channels if I use a digital antenna with converter box? will it only provide a clearer image but same amount of channels?
You don’t need a special antenna or a converter box with a digital tv.
4. Does digital antenna have “rabbit ears” too?
Small indoor antennas won’t receive as good of a signal and possibly fewer channels than a larger rooftop antenna. The bigger the antenna is, and the higher it’s mounted the better.
