can you use a blu ray dvd player on a 7 yr old plasma 42″ TV?
Obviously the NEC plasma screen came out before the advent of “HDTV ready”. I just want to avoid the expense of buying an HDTV screen when the plasma works fine.
You will be able to make it work.
The picture quality will depend on which connection scheme you use.
I don’t have manuals handy for 7 year old NEC units, but I assume that the best quality connection you can make from the BluRay player will be the COMPONENT outputs and inputs, which is one set of THREE “RCA type” connectors at each end.
